You can just do things

A good friend said this to me when I was afraid of failing.

He followed it up with the pigeons in the park are free; you can just take them home.

The Lyrid Meteor Shower

One fine day, I find myself invited to a meteor-shower viewing trip. The details were still undecided but it would involve a bike ride of about 100 kilometres one way. In order to view a meteor shower, we need to get out of the city-light-pollution.

I took some time to confirm my plans. I was getting the pre-trip cold-feet when a friend kindly stepped up and helped me navigate those (thank you). Now that I had committed to the trip, I decided that I would carry my coffee-making equipment on the trip because why not!! It turned out to be a good idea.

Waiting at a hospital

Because of reasons which are too private, I find myself in a hospital. I am ok; I am here for someone else.
Hospitals are places of waiting (amongst other things) and I think I am good at it. The lack of information does bother me at times.

Allow me to do the dishes

I have always struggled with not belonging to any particular place. As far back as I can remember, I recall this uncanny feeling. The feeling can be best described as the feeling when you stand at a bus stand that is the middle of your journey.

You are not at your destination and you are not at your source as well. You are in-between (as Viktor put it ;-) ). You can not unpack your bags and sit down for a while because the next bus might be just around the corner. So you just end up staying there, waiting for the bus to arrive; your feet hurt, the shoulders feel the weight of the bag and you are most likely hungry and you have to use the restroom as well.

Empathy-tinted glasses

I won't call myself an empath because I dislike labels. I like to think of myself as someone with a pair of empathy tinted glasses. This is very similar to the "sunglasses" from the movie They Live OR like the Peril Sensetive Sunglasses from the HGTG. Things changed once I picked up these nice looking shades.

The oldest prominent memory that I have with these shades dates back a fateful day in school where I was involved in a "fight". I hit someone and the pain it caused them did something to me. I remember being numb for a while after that. The fact that I was capable to such violence, of inflicting so much pain was very alient to myself. I tried to replicate the hurt by inflicting the same on myself for the rest of the week without much success. You see it is very important to me that I am familiar with the type / intensity of pain I can cause. Since that incident I have had trouble "fighting"; even playfully. I DO NOT want to hurt people.

How I use AI - LLMs

This documents my setup for using LLM-powered coding agents (specifically OpenCode with Claude) as a day-to-day software engineering tool. The system is built around three ideas:
