Updates of April-2026

Life: Living with the family in Bangalore

My parents were in Bangalore for a health thing. While they were here, my parents met with a bunch of my friends. This was the first time they met Tanvi. We have known each other for over 10 years now and finally my parents and the friend have met. It was a lovely afternoon. I was very anxious about it, but in hindsight I think that was just me being me. I made some Kolkata Biriyani under the expert guidance of my mother and Tanvi loved it. It was really really good.

My parents also met Abhishek. We hung out thrice with the family. It was great.

The parents also met with two of my other friends. :)

Because of the medical thing I had a bunch of family with me as well. It was nice hving so many people over in the hosue.

My aunt is great with plants and she did some gardening in the house. The hosue now has a bunch of cute looking plants here and there. It looks lovely.

Quite a few new experiences here. I have never had the family come over and live with me. I have been away from home since 2015 and this had happened after 11 years.

I had a lot of ideas in my head regarding how this would not be a pleasant experience, however that was not the case (a friend had pointed this out. Thank YOU!!)

Also, the last time my friends met my parents were in scholl (pre 2015). So again, this was new. I did good. I have great friends.

Life: Meteor showers and other things

I went to see the The Lyrid Meteor Shower with some friends. This was great fun. The logistics of this did remind me that I need to pcik up driving. A very very dear friend could not join us because there was no-one else in the gang to share driving responsibilities with. (note-to-self: FIX THIS. ASAP)

I also went to Pyramid Valley with a friend and then we went to two parties. Ran into a a bunch of common friends there. A friend made some excellent non-alcoholic beverage for me there (The recipe has been noted).

I have been going to the IndieWebCLub Bangalore meetups and I have made some friends there. I can no-longer show up events like these and pretend to be invisible. Someone always notices and waves; I always wave back. <3

I love this.

Running

I have been running quite a bit. I have gotten good at it. The running and workout schedule did take a hit for more than one reason.

I haven't been following the General Fitness plan for quite sometime now. I run whenever I get some time so most training has been very running focused.

I have signed up for the Sinhagad Epic Trail 2026 this year. This is the first out of the three races I wish to run this year.

I am not adequately trained for this, but my training is definitely better than what it used to be at last year during the The Coffee Trails 3.0. I guess I will find out (and I will definitely have fun).

Outdoors

I have started hanging outdoors with the blrhikes people more. We did water-quality testing for a small lake near bangalore.
We will do more of those in the next couple weeks.

Work

Work is going well. I have learning new ways of writing code. Now that code-generation is easier, I find myself thinking a lot more about the how of generating code.
I am more liberal with my experiements and I can try and discard an idea very quickly before moving onto the new one.

I am getting upto speed with a lot more of the internal systems as I type this. My current project has me write code in a bunch of different places which is always a good thing because I am learning so much more.
