Sept-Oct-2025

I believe I am still not used to writing these monthly notes. I look at what Tanvi writes and I am in awe. I need to get better at this.

September ...

This was a very interesting month for various reasons.

PyCon India 2025 happened on the second weekend. This was a very eventful weekend for me. I was volunteering with the group and had to be present physically during the event. The event is run by a group of friends so this is great fun. Met a bunch of old friends and a bunch of new friends as well.

The weekend after Pycon I had my First Half Marathon. It was humbling to say the least.

Following this and after much coercion by Tanvi I decided to spend money and buy a decent pair of running shoes. I did end up getting the Asics Gel Kayano 32. Wrote about it here

My friend Abhishek has been trying to introduce me to new people as potential dates and it has been going well. Though I have my doubts. More about this later (maybe).

October

This month has been fun. The new running shoes are awesome. I really really enjoy running in those.

I have decided to take a team of my friends to Nepal to trek the Annapurna Circuit. This is being planned for next year around April.
I am also leading a training and fitness program for these friends so that we can trek comfortably next year. I am really looking forward to this.

Additioanlly, I have agreed to lead another trek to Kumaraparvatha. This is happening in a group that friend runs. It is called BlrHikes and a friend is building the community.

Feeling weird

That weird feeling of selling off all of my stuff and go into a remote place away from civilization is back again.

It was getting overwhelming so I decided to ride my bike to Kukke-Subramanya. I was plannning to hike as well, but the weather spooked me and I decided agianst it. I feel guilty about getting spooked by bad weather, but then again, I should listen to my gut at times like these.
