Nov 2025 update¶
The month of November was extremely exciting for me. This month had a lot of firsts for me. We are doing bullet points because why not?
- I have already written about my First Trail Run. That was extremely fun.
- I started seriously Cooking for friends. This has been an extremely fun and warming experience for me. I feel much closer to my friends and it fills me with immense joy when they like what I have cooked. I understand my mother a bit more now. :) Tanvi really liked the chicken curry I made and that made me very happy.
- I got an offer from Cloudflare India. My friends have known for a while that I absolutely love what Cloudflare does and what the company stands for. I have grown up reading their blogs. The internet and networking nerd in me is doing somersaults as I type this. This is a dream come true. As of now, I've worked here for a week. I will write about this in detail later.
- I am overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge in Cloudflare's internal documentation. I am in love.
- I am learning Rust. This is both a personal curiosity and a work thing. I am glad for this.
- I attended two weddings this month. I am filled with joy that two of my biggest friends are now married (separately; these are orthogonal friend circles).
- Another friend of mine has started dating a person. They are quite serious about it. It is quite cute and honestly I am relieved. This friend deserves all the beautiful things in life and much more.
- My ex-colleague (from E2E Networks) has almost found a new job for himself which is significantly better for him both financially and career-wise.
- The router that I was setting up at Roshni's home has finally been set up. They are happy with it. I am surprised by how painless the process was. TP-Link is doing good things. The state of consumer routers is surely much better than what I remember.
- I might let go of my Keychron keyboard and just stick to my laptop keyboard. I do not find the extra bulk useful and, honestly, since every keyboard is slightly different I would rather get used to one layout.
- A friend has been trying to set me up with other people. It is going about as nicely as we can expect. Except this time, I am not the emotionally unavailable one.
- I am visiting home in Kolkata after a while and I am excited. The sibling is arriving from London and the cousins have planned a grand outing. I am looking forward to it.
- I met Varsha after like 3 years. The last time I spoke to her was at her wedding. They are visiting from Berlin and are in India for about a month. I do not have words to express the joy and love I felt when I met her. We were in touch via WhatsApp and Instagram but still, meeting an important friend in real life after such a long time surely hits differently. She has been gate-keeping her husband which is something I am salty about :P
- I met Aishwarya and her husband after like 8 years. They live in the USA and they were visiting too. I did not get a chance to meet my niece as the kid was too tired to travel, but I did buy her a present which she loves. It was wonderful to catch up with a long-distance friend. I am very, very glad for all the friends that are in my life.
