It has been a very long month. Some updates are due.
May 2026, Updates¶
Life¶
Life has been overall great. I did fall sick one week with the seasonal flu but then I recovered quite quickly.
My threshold for the kind of sickness that can put-me-down is quite high, so even though I am functional I can infect others. Note-to-self: DO NOT do social visit if you are even slightly sick.
A lot of my close friends are getting married this year and the next. There is a lot of wedding-talk in different groups and this fills me up with a LOT of joy. It is a priviledge to see my friends step into the next phase of their lives.
As usual in times like this, I get asked when I am going to get married and I am very glad to announce that I have no intention of getting married. This is ofcourse my version right now, and I am fully aware that this might change. We shall see.
I was introduced to a new friend circle by a common-friend. The new circle is nice and hanging out with them makes me feel very much loved. I am glad that I have such richness in my life.
At a gathering me and a friend bonded over our shared love for Ted Lasso. it is a great show. I want to watch it again.
I have submitted a suggestion for the Cinema CLub that runs at Underline. The movie is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and in my opinion it is one of the greatest movies out there and everyone should watch it.
I am planning to sell my motorcycle. I do not enjoy the bike any longer and the opportunity cost of not getting an xpulse is just too much. I might be able to sell it to a friend who wants a starter motorbike for himself. So I am waiting for him to say yes/no.
I made some Bengali style cholar dal and gave it to a few friends. They LOVED it which made it feel great. The partner also had some and they also approved of this; which felt EVEN greater.
I also made the peanut-butter-apple toast for the partner on two occasions and they loved it. My only compplaint of this dish is that it gets too soggy too soon.
The family is planning to visit the brother in London sometime in August this year. I need to start making arrangements for my VISA etc. If I will be going to London, I will visit my friends in Berlin and the Cloudflare office in Lisbon as well.
A friend was also planning a hike to the Kanchenjunga Basecamp during the month of October this year.
This is a lot of travel and I am not sure if I am up for all this travel.
I am going to get tested for ADHD.
I am not entirely sure what I am trying to get out of this diagnosis, except that I am looking forward to a proper diag and maybe medicines to help me deal with this ? (I guess ?)
I would love to be able to focus more. It would be nice to not focus on the bird-song while typing things like these.

Outdoors¶
Did not get to do a lot of outdoor work these weeks. I have been mostly running and lifting.
I managed to do 2 back to back 10k runs the other week. I am much more comfortable with the running volume I am doing now.
I have a couple of travels planned in the next 2 weeks, so I will get a much needed rest for my knees.
I am returning to the city on June 8th I plan to get in a solid week of running before a 2 week rest for the June 27th race.
Work¶
Work has been okay for the most part. There was as layoff at the company and thankfully I remain unaffected. However the morale is pretty low after this event.
My project is coming along well, though I think I will have to rush to hit the deadline. I remain hopeful.
I am learning a LOT though which is always great.
Speaking of learning, I havent made much progress on the Rust-learning thing.
I will be adding a RSS feed to this site.
